Masquerade

This Masquerade Party
The Labyrinth of Jareth Fantasy Masquerade Ball Presented by Sypher

… was a lot of fun to go to. It was especially fun to work on my costume. There were a lot of fabulous outfits as you can see from their photo gallery on their site.
If you look around, you’ll see a picture of Troyworks, Lightling [and her beautiful ribbon dress] and Browascension. It is worth checking out their photo gallery, so you get an idea of the type of fantasy costumes.

Brotherwolf was there with a sultan type costume with a huge headdress. It was humongous and humorous. His date for the evening, the Lovely S, his ex-wife, was wearing a black dress, in Barbara Streisand fashion, was shown to not be opaque when light a strong light source is used… like a camera flash, or being onstage at the Oscars. We had a great time dancing together.

For some reason, I thought it would be easy to socialize, like at a small party, but it wasn’t. However… that could just be me:) BRKVW noted, that if you were a single guy, this is the place to go! There were more women than men, for I suspect, dressing up this way appeals to women. It sure did to me!

There is a fantastical aura to the event. From the moment we arrived, I had a smile on my face. It feels special and everyone attending participates, by being in costume of some sort. One doesn’t see drunk ‘frat boys’ with only a few beads or a silly hat as a costume. My lover and I danced, and oh how my happiness stretched.

Some things to remember for next time…. It is a little chilly on the roof top garden, so wear some clothes next time.
Also, the soft-wings that I had were a good idea. It is inevitable that you will bump into someone that is wearing wings. Lightling said that wearing wings all night and constantly getting bumped gets really tiring and annoying after a while. I can imagine.

And when will the next time be? Probably in 5 years. That’s about our threshold.

WAIT! Newsflash! I will probably go in 2006 [this year] as Drop Black Sky will be playing a 30-minute set! [Check out track 5 ‘Tuesday’s Child’]
