Recently...I have not written in a while. [Read Previous Post] Besides that, my assistant was out for three weeks due to a cyst removal. Her surgery was the day after a horse hit my husband. I totally underestimated the demands on my time. To the degree that I felt some symptoms of anxiety. Things I have not felt for a long time. So, my highest priority was
to do whatever was necessary to not have those feelings anymore. I hermit-ed
for a while, and will likely continue to till summer.
Other than that,
my life has been focusing on inward stuff. I’ll be putting together
a clothing exchange soon. Basically, a bunch of women come over, bringing
their closet rejects. We take turns holding up our items and trying
to give them away. “I lost weight. Don’t fit this anymore”
Clothes are flung… piles begin. Once everyone goes through their things, women scurry to the bathrooms and bedroom to try things on. One of my goals in this event is to make women go through their stuff. Trim down, streamline, get rid of extra. Spring is a great time for this, as it will come naturally in the next few week... what with spring an all... :) Hold onto that pile and bring it here. If you go home with some new things, great, if not, you got rid of things, and got to meet some other cool women. It’s girlie fun! Things that are left over are taken to a shelter.
Speaking of clothes… did you know that Hot Topic is publically traded? How cool is that?! Last year when I was in Vegas, every mall I went to had a shop like Hot Topics, yet they were only for women in sizes over 12. It’s got a horrible name, Torrid, but I think it will do very well. Very Well. And about time!
I’ll be going to Australia in April with BRKVW. Why? Cause he asked if I wanted to go, and I said Yes!
A month or so ago,
a portly ex-employee was found to have a heart murmur and about to get
a mechanical heart valve. It was referred to as his second. So I said,
“I didn’t know he already had one”. To which the reply
was, “His original one is the 1st one”
A few days later,
I take one of my dogs to the vet as she has a scabby nose. We were once
told that is was an auto-immune problem. The vet confirmed it and was
about to give her steroids, but checked her heart and said that she
thought she heard a heart murmur. And that if my dog had a heart murmur,
then she could not give her the steroids as they make the dog thirsty.
Thirsty dog drinks more water. That increases blood volume, which is
bad if you have a heart murmur. So one x-ray later, it is confirmed,
dog as a heart murmur. At which point I am told I can see a specialist.
[I declined and asked about other options]
Which made me think
about ‘a good life’. What is a good life? A good life has
basic necessities taken care of: food, clothing, shelter. That is a
given. But a good life is more… that’s what makes it good!
A good life is filled with tasty food, comfortable clothing and shelter,
meaningful work, fulfilling personal endeavors, people to care for,
people that care about you, laughter and love.
