Who Sleeps at a Slumber Party?

It started with an innocent question from RadiantSun… “When was the last time you were at a slumber party? You know, all girls?”
From there, it’s just a hop and a step away to “Let’s host a slumber party!”
“Yeah… and we can invite all the cool women we know… and give each other manicures and pedicures!”

And like all the best ideas should, this one came to fruition this past Saturday night.
Some women traveled hundreds of miles to attend; all made the effort to be here.
And what did we do?
We played…with nail polish, and lotions, massages, make up, posing for photos, chocolate fondue, swimming in the hot pool, and Set at 4:30am.

Excuse the blur. Beauty Shop!

Thank you to everyone who attended. Radiantsun for hosting and talking about the symbolism of the rose, Pixels_of_Light for taking Polaroid’s of everyone and those chewy chocolate cookies, Riparia for her delicious salad and presence, Sunshine__Girl for her infectious laughter, Smileycynic for starting the makeup play :), Neurogirl for bringing Set, Thalassan for her smile and poetic nature, HH for her PMS tips, Kat and Kit for their corporate-world insights. We didn’t get to play all the games that Radiantsun put together… next time!

The women traveling from out of town slept over and the next morning, my incredibly cool husband came back to cook breakfast for everyone. Some of the regular Hike the Geek hikers came for this treat as well. Fresh fruit compost with honey and nuts, eggs and sausages of all types, and one of his specialties, French toast. I made torched grapefruits [imagine a crème brulee topping- that hard sugar crust on a grapefruit… love my blowtorch!], Candid brought a full dozen of Krispie Kreme donuts, Troyworks brought a very tasty fizzy orange drink.

The cooking and eating and cooking seemed to go on for hours:) Alas, it was time to meet the other Geeks for the day’s scheduled hike.

And then…
