Bits and Pieces

I sold my Orbritek elliptical trainer today to a beautiful woman. She was average American size and came with her husband who bought it for her. She had a gorgeous smile. She asked two important questions: Why are you selling it? And What do you do now?
-----
This is what I told her:
I am selling it because it is boring. I used it to help me 'get into' exercising. I did it in front of the TV, but then you had to turn up the volume, and the sound level bothered me. That and I can't stand commercials.

Now, I use the Pilates reformer, weights, yoga and the firm tapes. I like variety.

-----
I remember thinking that the Orbitrek would be a passive way to exercise. It doesn't seem so tough and heck, it is only 20 minutes a day! Once I started doing it, besides the boredom, I just couldn't get away from that 'rat on a wheel' feeling, hence I don't go to gyms. As a non-exerciser I did not realize there is no passive exercising.

But I was right in that it did get me into exercising. I noticed improvement in cardio stamina and the boredom factor made me move onto to the next level of exercising.
------
I wished her well and told her to sell it when she moves onto the next thing. She left excited. Cool.

Salmon. Yummy. Found some wild caught at TJ's and broiled it. Topped with a fresh raspberry [hint of vanilla] yogurt coulis, served with sautéed garlic, spinach with rice, and buttered peas. Buttermilk cookies to finish.

PSA: You have probably heard all the good press about salmon, being high in omega fats, etc. What you may not have heard is that farm raised salmon has higher levels of saturated fats and more toxins than wild salmon. Also besides the farming procedures causing problems in the environment , farmed salmon is dyed! To be appealing to the consumer! Yuck!

Made a Thai red curry with lemon grass chicken in my solar cooker yesterday. It came out okay. Wasn't quite finished due to shadows in my usual cooking spot, showing up earlier in the day, around 4pm. I finished it in the oven. So I have to start putting things out earlier.

Mint Green Tea Sorbet was one of the flavors I brought to P. Steel's party. TroyWorks tried some with chocolate syrup and said it was excellent, so I made another batch and tried it. He's right! Yummy! Like a peppermint pattie:)

Ditto: Till I get my own digital camera, see party pics here: Traintrip. I did my pink thing. Pink is a color I would not have worn till about 5 years ago. I don't know what happened. Something came over me and I have slowly allowed some pink clothing items into my wardrobe, though it has to be the right shade of pink. That is the first time I have worn pink from head to toe.

Being of 'I' personality type, social events can be challenging. I have a theory that 'I' personality types have to find their 'E' personality and vice versa. Each social event offers me opportunity to be more and more comfortable in my 'E' personality, plus I have learned some tips. Since I knew a handful of people I wasn't as nervous. I met a bunch of people and put faces to names I have heard lately. All in all, fun.

Came across this lately and heard Beavis and Butthead snickering in my head. He shot...You said shot, etc. I once found a rock that had discoloration that looked like an erect penis. Who knew I could take a picture of it and make a living?
