Ice Mistress... okay, maybe more like Sweet Ice Mistress

Here's a bunch of misc tidbits. Mostly pertaining to food.

Saturday past, I made a paprika spice chicken in my solar oven. It came out fabulously! Basically you rub the chicken with butter and sprinkle on a mixture of paprika, cayenne, salt and thyme. Verysimple,oh so tasty.

Later on that evening, I made a blueberry bannock [scone]. It had wheat germ and chopped pecans in the dough. I knew I was going on a sunrise hike the next day, and I thought this would taste great at the top of the mountain. It did. The blueberries kept the scone moist so that you really did not need butter.

Going to a party this coming weekend and we decided to bring sorbet. The goal is to make 2 flavors a day until we depart. Each recipe yields 2 pints, so I should end up with around 12 flavors and 24 pints.

So far I have made these flavors:
Horchata
Root Beer
Coconut
Lemon Cheesecake

Only 8 or 9 left to go:
Grapefruit Caramel
Ginger
Cabernet Plum
Lemon Poppy Seed
Pear Chardonnay
Rose
Jasmine Tea
Peppermint
Earl Grey, with milk and sugar, please

Speaking of tea, there is a lj community called teafortwo that is doing a tea swap. Here is the entry.
You get a name and an address and you send that person 5 tea bags. And someone will send you 5 tea bags as well. How exciting is that?! Now you can get rid of that flavor that you no longer like :) Hurry though, the organizer wants to get it rolling in October.
